Our dynamic Backroads community helps us create dynamic travel experiences… so we’ve expanded our cruise capacity!

Choosing one of our river cruise trips is great for those guests who are looking for a wider variety of fellow travelers to share the experience with. We have recently doubled down on the fun and increased our guest capacity from 30 to 60 guests.

With 8 ship-based leaders on a 60-guest cruise, our larger cruises still offer full support as well as opportunities for smaller group experiences. Onshore excursions feature the support of additional Backroads staff, leaders and vans for organized outings, shore activities and meals. This allows us to offer the same unparalleled support and service as on any other Backroads trip along with a larger community experience.

If you are a gregarious, fun loving, mix it up kind of person who likes to settle in for the week with no moving hotels and luggage; these trips are perfect for you.

If you prefer a more intimate gathering and more opportunity to bond with your trip leaders, you might prefer our classic land-based trips, which have an average of 16 guests.
